One down, fifteen more to go...

This week we ate the Steelers. Next week we play the Jets. You know a team is getting blown out when the fans start cheering for the announcers. In this case, the Steelers were wishing Kordell's neck growth would take over, wondering if perhaps it might give them a chance to score. Someone should have thrown their helmet. I think that was the only penalty the Steeler's didn't get. Dave said they even opened Heinz stadium for people to go and watch. I bet it was empty by the end of the first half. Stupid Steeler fans.

In other news, Madden needs to lay off the yellow pen. One more X and I was going to get in my car and head to Foxboro to break it over his big fat head.

So we played at least one game like we really are the defending champions. The question is will we continue to play like this next week, and the week after that? I think we will. This was a great way to start the season, another way to prove to people that we deserved the rings and that we're not going away. Maybe next week ESPN will actually pick us to win. Bastards.

Man, could Kordell have sucked any more last night? If you count that fumble that got called back he was responsible for giving the ball away 5 times. FIVE! I mean geez. The penalties, my God the penalties. I was hoping for Charlie Batch after the second series. i'll be ranting more on VaxCave later today. Sheesh.

Finally, I am convinced. And this is not brown-nosing to the host blogger. I am convinced. The Patriots are ferreal. They knocked Jerome Bettis around like he was a rag doll. Otis Smith shut down Hines Ward. Tom-fucking-Brady (because any football players whose namesake is shared with the cheesiest sit-com ever has to have the infix 'fucking')fucked the Steelers UP. Period. And I'm afraid that the real Kordell did in fact stand up.

I am pretty biased and all, but I'm really glad last night turned out the way that it did. The Patriots haven't gotten much respect from anyone, and quite frankly, I hope that continues. I think the Steelers didn't prepare as well as they should have, once again coming to the false conclusion that the Patriots weren't a very good team. I mean come on: they were underdogs in their hometown with the Steelers coming out on top by 3. WTF? They were the Super Bowl champions, and they defeated the Rams, last years *best* team, on turf. That was something no one thought would happen. Frankly, people need to smarten up, but if they don't, you won't hear me complain too loudly since it just makes it easier for us to whip their ass.
